Flick stick steam1/18/2024 So, I looked around the internet and there isn't any solution to the problem. So, I ultimately wiped my entire drive and did a clean install of Win11, and the problem still persists. Took me more than a year to figure out that problem, but I'll need to tell you this funny story.ĭuring my Manjaro Linux as my test drive, I noticed that my Bluetooth performance has gotten worse on Windows OS and can barely pair my controllers (including my DualSense) than on Linux, even if I finally got pairing to work: it starts to increase input lag by 110ms or more.funnily enough, Linux doesn't have that problem but it still comes with good ol' motion blur-style stutter. I guess my initial help request is half-solved, but I still would like to know if anyone has an answer to terrible jitteriness of Steam Input gyro mouse. Not sure what computer sorcery was done, but it's working better, still not quite 1:1, but it may be because of the gyro acceleration in the default "_3Dmouse" config, still need to tweak it by myself to be sure. The drifts are gone too, i've tried JSM again after an hour or two and it works better now for some reason. That's it, every time you press Square, it freezes the gyro until you let go of the button. Here's the documentation link.īasically what you need to do is bind GYRO_OFF to any suitable button, my preference is Square / X, so that would be "GYRO_OFF = W" in config file. Unfortunately the word "ratcheting" is not mentioned even once, hence why i couldn't find it at first, but it functions in the same manner. I've found a way to configure JSM gyro ratcheting! If someone needs any additional info that I forgot to provide - feel free to ask, and thanks in advance for any help! Here's my Steam gyro settings (imgur album). I'm using lowest sensitivity in game and mouse smoothing is enabled. I'm using a "High performance" Power option, bluetooth USB dongle is getting enough power and DS4Windows says that my gamepad delay is 3-4ms at average. I'm using Bluetooth, but it's completely the same if gamepad is wired. Is that how it should be? Or am I missing something important in configuring the gyro aim?Ī little bit of information just to be sure: You can see at the start of the video that it just randomely bugged out and started drifting like crazy, but then it went kinda okay? But there's no separate Gyro Ratcheting button to reset my aim in JSM, at least I couldn't find anything that resembles ratcheting in documentation. So the JSM is miles ahead of Steam Input, but still not exact 1:1. I'm using JSM just to have different gyro aim, all of the other bindings are still handled by Steam Input, if that's important. You can see in that video that I'm not getting anything remotely close. What i'm trying to achieve is 1:1 input response, so if i'm looking at, let's say, a car tire, lift my gamepad up a little, and then lower it back, I still should look right at that car tire, not lower, not higher. Here's the Google Drive link with my video example. Steam Input gyro aim is very, very much jittery and unresponsive. I've been trying to set up my DualShock 4 with gyro aim this whole day, i'm trying to achieve full gyro + flick stick setup with a separate gyro ratcheting button. Hey, so I'm here thanks to that one TF2 gyro video everyone knows about now.
